2022 27″ iMac Review

If you would’ve told me a year ago that I’d be sitting here writing a review about an iMac – the new iMac – that I own, I would’ve said you were kidding…lying even. But here I am!

I’d like to preface this by stating that I am in no way a tech genius, a computer god, or any kind of gamer. I’m just a regular old Joe (Jane…?) who has been slowly but surely collecting every product in Apple’s collection and just so happen to be the owner of a brand-new iMac.

iMac Review

I have never, in my adult life, owned a desktop, but as I move forward in my educational career my go-to, equally beautiful MacBook Air has shown its challenges.

Don’t get me wrong, I recommend my MacBook to anyone and everyone! But in a PhD program, the ability to open and see numerous tabs of peer reviewed journals and articles will be necessary. And, something I am capable of doing on the new 27” iMac.

So…without further ado…here is my honest and entirely positive review of the 2022 iMac!

Let’s start off with the look. It’s sleek. SLEEK. Space-age, George Jetson-type piece of equipment.

2022 iMac review

I have seen lots of desktops and, no offense to any other computer company, but they simple do not compare to the beauty that is the new iMac.

I have the silver color, but they also come in blue, green, pink, yellow, orange, and purple.

I’d also like to mention that there are three different levels of the new iMac. Nothing is incredibly different other than a few additional ports, additionally storage, and the keyboard having the Touch ID feature.

My best advice: save your money, buy the base model, and invest in iCloud (for $0.99/month).

The 4.5K Retina display is the crispest screen I have ever worked on!

Last night, I watched the best animated movie ever created, Tangled, on my iMac and it felt as if I was in the movie theater.

The adjustable brightness ranges from sitting in a dark room with only the light of the screen to looking at the snow in broad daylight. In other words, there is a brightness level for everyone on every occasion.

The built in six-speaker sound system adds an additional layer of perfect for movie watching (and I’m sure movie/music editing if that’s a passion of yours!).

As an Apple consumer, my hands-down favorite thing about the iMac is its compatibility features with my preexisting MacBook Air, iPhone, Apple Watch, and iPad.

On Christmas day, after opening my new iMac, I immediately started receiving texts THAT I CAN OPEN AND ANSWER on my iMac.

Ahhh…the early 2000s desktop I used to have could never!

Overall, I have no quells or hard feelings regarding anything about my new iMac. I plain and simply love it and I think you would, too!
