Clear Your Desk for National Clean Off Your Desk Day!
If you’re anything like me, you’re desk is a cluttered mess of papers, pens, tape dispensers, sketchbooks, planners, mail…oh, and there’s also a bag of jelly beans.
A girls gotta have a treat, right?
But, seriously, having a clean desk is a God send and can make your entire day go more smoothly.
A cluttered work space quickly leads to a cluttered mind!
So, what’s the best way to do it?

My desk prior to writing this post….absolutely atrocious!
Clear Your Desk!
Take everything off the top of your desk, except your desktop computer, if you have a laptop, remove that, too.
Use a rag and some cleaning spray to wipe down your monitor, computer tower and desk.
Put Back ONLY What You Use Daily!
Keep pens, pencils and other small office supplies (and/or tools) in the top drawer of your desk. Or, if you don’t have a drawer, use a desk supply caddy to hold everything you need at your fingertips instead.
Use a file organizer to keep important papers handy, but put the rest of the paper clutter away in a filing cabinet or filing box.
Store extra sketchbooks and notebooks on a bookshelf or inside a cabinet instead of on top of your desk.
Pick Up Every Day!
Here’s the most important part, you guys!
You have to clear your desk every day for this to work.
So, make yourself a promise that at the end of each work day, you’ll clean off your desk.
Pick up the papers that don’t need to be out and put them away.
Put your pens and pencils in your drawer or in your storage basket.
And then, each morning, you can walk into your office with a clear mind and see a clean desk every day…

My desk after taking my own advice from this post…much better!
I hope these tips help you clear your desk for National Clean Off Your Desk Day, too!
Have a Great Day!
