Hello March, Spring and My Birthday

Advertiser Disclosure and Policies

Spring has Sprung!

Well, sort of, anyway. February was amazingly warm here in Vermont and we’re on track for a warm March, too. I wished for spring for my birthday this year and thankfully, someone listened!

Hello March, Spring and My Birthday

The irises are confused!

My Birthday

I’m sorry that I’ve been sort of MIA for the last week, but between the exceptional weather (we’ve had temperatures in the upper 40s and 50s here for over a week and I’m loving it) and my birthday, it’s been a hectic week.

As I’ve mentioned before I’m a leap year baby, so I guess this year was sort of a half birthday.

Somehow, I turned 38. I’m not even sure how that is possible – where has the time gone? Yesterday, I was a fun-loving 20 year old and today, I’m 38…time sure flies!

We headed south to NY on Monday and celebrated my birthday, my Grandfather’s birthday (he’s a Valentine baby!) and my Step-Mother’s birthday, with the family. Originally, we were supposed to go on Sunday, but unfortunately, we woke up to a weird blip in the otherwise beautiful weather, and it snowed. So, we had to wait until Monday.

Either way, it was so nice to spend some time with the family. It’s been months since we’ve seen them and I’ve been a little homesick.

On Wednesday, (my birthday celebration day), the girls made me the perfect cake – spice cake and cream cheese frosting – and we had Chinese food for dinner.

Bonus – they each had special gifts for me, too!

Didn’t they do a beautiful job?!

My oldest gave me a graphic tablet and pen – which I’ve wanted FOREVER. She couldn’t have chosen better. I’ll tell you, that girl really listens when you talk – it’s so sweet that she would remember an item I mentioned a couple of years ago!

This past year, she started her first job and has since been buying gifts on her own. I’m not sure where she got it from, but she is one heck of a gift giver!

My youngest daughter gave me the most beautiful handmade wooden sign. She used her wood-burning tools to burn our last name “Hamlin” into the wood, then she cut 4 holes and placed a stone in each hole. Each stone symbolizes the color of each our birthstones. She chose 2 stones that she had from our house in New York and 2 stones from our new house in Vermont.

Isn’t she the sweetest? She always makes the most thoughtful gifts! I’m pretty sure this one will become a family heirloom to pass down from generation to generation.

I have the most awesome kids, don’t I?

Time to Paddy - St. Patricks Day Cards

Our most popular St. Patrick’s day Card this year!

News from the Shop

St. Patrick’s Day Cards are flying off the shelves (err…printer) and I’ve been super busy keeping up with those orders. Yesterday, a customer came in a bought 21 items…all at once! While it’s not the biggest monetary order I’ve had on Etsy to date, it is the largest number of items I’ve sold in a single order, so that was super exciting!

How’s that for an awesome birthday gift?!

In other news, printables are back in the shop by popular demand! I’ve had so many requests for printables since I stopped selling them, that I decided to go ahead and relist them all. Head over to the shop to see all the planners, cash envelopes and other goodies you can print right now!

I’m also working on finishing up spring designs for 2018! Think more patterns, some new doodles and a whole lotta new grocery lists, to-do lists and a few other things I might have up my sleeve.

Invitations are high on my priority list this year, too. I currently offer 69 invitation designs for various birthdays, parties and celebrations. This year, I’m hoping to add a larger collection of wedding and bridal invitations, too.

The Farmer’s Market

I’m stepping out of my comfort zone this summer and I’ve signed up to sell my stationery and paper goods at our local Farmer’s Market. Eeeekk!

I haven’t done shows in YEARS, so I’m a little nervous about how this is all going to work out, but I’m excited, too. Wish me luck!

Well, my friends, that’s all the news in my life…what’s happening with you?
