Save hundreds of dollars each year by making your own homemade dishwasher detergent!
Did you know you could make your own homemade dishwasher detergent tablets? I was surprised to find out that you can and it only costs pennies per batch!
In fact, if you buy dishwasher tablets just twice a month, that’s an annual savings of roughly $240 a year.
That’s a HUGE savings!
Not only is it cheap to make, but it really works!
Since switching to homemade dishwasher tablets, my dishes need less rinsing, glass and plastic comes out clear and my dishwasher, itself is actually cleaner.
So, why are you still paying $10.00 or more for every box of dishwasher tablets, when you can make them yourself?
How to Make Your Own Homemade Dishwasher Detergent Tablets
Things You Need:
- 1 cup each of borax, washing soda and white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract, optional
Combine the borax and washing soda in a large mixing bowl.
Add vinegar, lemon juice and peppermint oil to the dry mixture. Stir to combine.
Pour mixture into 30 small, rectangular molds. Feel free to use ice cube trays, tiny plastic containers or even a plastic egg tray. (I use a 2 1/2 dozen egg tray because it has 30 individual spaces that work perfectly.) Just make sure the tablet will fit into your dishwasher detergent tray.
Allow the detergent to harden for 1 to 2 hours. Remove from molds.
Use these tablets just like you would regular, store-bought dishwasher detergent tablets.
Enjoy trying these homemade dishwasher detergent tablets!
Have a Spectacular Day!
