How to Make Marinara Sauce with Meat

How to Make Homemade Marinara Sauce with Meat

Here’s what you’ll need:

Dutch oven (this is the one I use) OR large stockpot

2 teaspoons olive oil

1 lb. ground beef

2 teaspoons garlic, chopped

1/4 cup sherry cooking wine or real sherry wine

2 – 28 ounce cans chunky crushed tomatoes

1 sprig each: basil, oregano, rosemary OR 1 teaspoon Italian seasonings

Here’s how to make it:

Heat olive oil in a dutch oven on medium temperature.

Brown ground beef in the oil. Use a flat wooden spatula to break it apart into small pieces.

Add chopped garlic to the ground beef.

Pour sherry wine and crushed tomatoes into the meat mixture and stir to combine.

Add fresh herbs or Italian seasonings.

Turn the heat down to low and allow the sauce to simmer for 30 minutes.

Use your homemade sauce in any of your favorite dishes!
