Warm up those bellies and wake up those taste buds! Honey Sriracha Meatballs are a sweet and spicy recipe that pleases many types of palates.
I have made these meatballs for all kinds of occasions – Sunday football, potluck social or just an average quick dinner for the family!
You can even skip a few steps and opt out of homemade meatballs for store bought frozen meatballs. Cut the cook time in half- or more!!
Lets break this up into two separate sections. First, the homemade meatballs then the honey sriracha sauce!
Quick and Easy Homemade Meatballs
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 lb. ground beef or ground turkey
- 1-1/2 cups bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons squeeze garlic
- 1/2 tsp. parsley
- 1/2 tsp. basil
- 2 shakes of red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
- Pinch of salt and pepper
Makes: 14 large or 20 small meatballs
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Preheat the oven to 375.
- Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
- Spray a baking sheet lightly with cooking spray.
- Shape the mixture into balls 1- 1.5″ and place onto baking sheet slightly spaced apart.
- Cook on for 20-25 minutes, turning halfway through cook time.
- Make sure they are browned and cooked through.
- Set aside.
Another great option is to cook only halfway through and finish off in the crockpot with the honey sriracha sauce mixed in to become a sticky glaze!
Truly this recipe can be easily changed up to suit your, or your families liking.
If you prefer a saucier meatball then eat right away but if you prefer a more sticky glaze on a meatball- coat them and let them simmer in the sauce to thicken further.
Like things more sweet than spicy? Add another half cup of honey. It really is so easily interchangeable.
I tend to make them a little less “wow” in the hot department when making for a crowd.
