Organizing Craft Supplies in a Small Space
Are your craft supplies taking over your already small work space?
I know mine are!
There are some days when I wish I could just give it all away. And honestly, my basement craft room/office isn’t really all that small.
But, it’s not just my craft room. It’s my office, library and occasionally, my wood shop. And the room currently houses our large freezer and the piano until it’s moved back into the family room (in other words, after I finish the rest of the list).
So, yeah, my craft room seems kinda small with all this “extra” stuff going on in here. I need to get the extras out and I really need to better organize all the different work spaces that I have.
A lot of things have changed since the last time I updated anything in my office/craft room and it’s really well past time to bring it into focus.
Unfortunately, I just don’t have time to give it the complete overhaul that it needs right now. Instead, I’m going to work on reorganizing my crafting supplies and getting rid of or putting away some of the things that I don’t use often.
Some things are already well organized, like these mason jars that hold all my thread and mini supplies.
I really love these little jars.
Especially, the old-fashioned style with the glass and wire lids.
As you can see, I have quite a few of them. I usually buy out the jars from any yard sale, they’re just perfect for storing so many things!
And they look so pretty on the shelves. Don’t you think?
But, besides my clean desk…
And the work counter…
There isn’t a whole lot of other organizing going on in this little room of mine. And I need to get it in ship-shape.
I work better in a clean and organized space and I’ll bet you do, too.
Or you wouldn’t here reading this.
But, don’t worry before you leave, you’ll have more ideas for organizing craft supplies in a small space, than you’ll know what to do with!

I love these thin shelves and the dowel tape roll.
This extra large pegboard from Honey Bear Lane, might just be my favorite! I absolutely love how neat and organized everything is, plus it’s so colorful!
Yes, I know this is from my bathroom. But, I just love mason jars, so, why couldn’t you do the same thing to organize your craft supplies?
My paper punches are currently in a storage container and are not real accessible when I need them. But, this idea of using towel racks to hang the punches is brilliant! Plus, you can buy these racks at the dollar store, so the cost is minimal!
I love this idea of using dowels and a picture frame to keep all of your wrapping paper and ribbon in one place, but the best part is, you can easily cut what you need without counter space!
Utilizing recycled shipping boxes is a great way to create a paper storage tower without spending a bunch of money!
Creating a tier of shelves up the wall is a great way to save work space in a small craft room. I love how this crafter used matching baskets all the way to the ceiling to hold her craft supplies. It looks so clean and organized, doesn’t it?
I hope you’ve had fun looking through these great ideas for organizing craft supplies in a small space, I know I enjoyed writing this post. It’s always fun to peek into other people’s craft rooms. 🙂
