Pillsbury Biscuit Recipes for Any Meal of the Day

Cooking from scratch is something I try to do as much as possible. However, sometimes it just isn’t in the cards. Biscuits from the can are an easy alternative and can be used for any meal of the day. Pillsbury biscuits have a lot of different options- Grands, Buttermilk, the list goes on. No matter what you choose they can be transformed into something outstanding. Here are Pillsbury biscuit recipes for any meal of the day.

Pillsbury Biscuit Recipe for Breakfast:

How can you go wrong with sausage gravy?

It is hands down one of the most comforting breakfast recipes out there… I think!

You might not be making the biscuits from scratch, but it will taste like grandma’s biscuits and gravy once you are done. 

Sausage Gravy Biscuit Bubble Up

Ingredients:

  • Can of Pillsbury biscuits
  • 1 pound of breakfast sausage- I use a pork sausage roll
  • 1/4 cup of flour
  • 5 tbsp. butter, cubed
  • 3-4 cups milk
  • 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheese

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 and spray a 9×13 baking dish
  2. Cook sausage until no longer pink and crumbled, do not drain.
  3. Add in cubed butter, allow to start melting.
  4. Sprinkle flour over sausage in skillet, a bit at a time, while whisking. 
  5. Once combined, slowly pour in milk constantly stirring.
  6. Add in salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce, allow sauce to thicken over low to medium heat.
  7. Cut each biscuit into 4 pieces and place in bowl.
  8. Toss with sausage gravy.
  9. Pour into pan and top with shredded cheese.
  10. Bake 25 minutes or until top has turned golden.

Sausage Gravy Biscuit Bubble Up

One pan of creamy gravy, savory sausage and flaky biscuits!

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 25 minutes
Total Time 35 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 can of Pillsbury biscuits
  • 1 pound of breakfast sausage- I use a pork sausage roll

Pillsbury Biscuit Recipe for Lunch:

These grilled (air fried) chicken slider sandwiches – TWO WAYS – are a perfect lunch for a gathering or for a crowd of kiddos at your house!

Grilled Chicken Biscuit Sliders

Ingredients: 

  • 1 lb thin cut boneless skinless chicken cutlets, breast
  • Can of buttermilk Pillsbury biscuits
  • 3 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tbsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions:

  1. Wash and pat dry chicken cutlets.
  2. Drizzle with olive oil, coating the entire cutlets front and back. 
  3. Mix seasonings together and rub into chicken all over.
  4. Lay cutlets in air fryer flat, no overlapping.
  5. Cook at 400 degrees for 8 minutes then flip cutlet and cook for another 5-6 minutes. 
  6. While the chicken is cooking bake the biscuits following the directions on the can. 

Toppings two ways:

Classic chicken sandwich: Fresh sliced tomato, lettuce and mayonnaise

Thanksgiving dinner sandwich: Cranberry sauce and gravy.

Juicy chicken and biscuit sliders: two ways to fancy anyone's taste!

Pillsbury Biscuit Recipe for Dinner:

A good, classic sloppy joe re-invented! This is a delicious biscuit pocket stuffed with sloppy joe mixture, caramelized onions and cheese. YUM!

Unsloppy Joes

Ingredients:

  • Can of Pillsbury biscuit grands
  • 1 pound ground hamburger
  • One onion
  • 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 0z can of tomato paste
  • McCormick sloppy joe mix or homemade sloppy joe mix

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees, F. 
  2. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  3. Cook ground hamburger until no longer pink, drain.
  4. Add seasonings and tomato paste, mix and allow to thicken.
  5. Use butter (oil as substitute) and caramelize your onion stovetop.
  6. Stretch and flatten biscuit.
  7. Top with meat mixture, a few caramelized onions and a pinch of shredded cheese.
  8. Fold the biscuit over the mixture and use a fork to flatten the edges.
  9. Make sure to cut 1-2 slits on the top of the pocket to allow it to expand and rise!
  10. Now cook for 9-12 minutes or until golden brown.

Yield: 8 servings

Unsloppy Joes

A pocket style sloppy joe that takes out the sloppy but doesn't cut you short on flavor!

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 12 minutes
Total Time 22 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 can Pillsbury biscuit grands
  • 1 pound ground hamburger

  • 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 6 0z can of tomato paste
  • 1 McCormick sloppy joe mix

Instructions

    1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees, F. 
    2. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
    3. Cook ground hamburger until no longer pink, drain.
    4. Add seasonings and tomato paste, mix and allow to thicken.
    5. Use butter (oil as substitute) and caramelize your onion stovetop.
    6. Stretch and flatten biscuit.
    7. Top with meat mixture, a few caramelized onions and a pinch of shredded cheese.
    8. Fold the biscuit over the mixture and use a fork to flatten the edges.

Biscuits are good with just a pad of butter, or a drizzle of honey but don’t miss the opportunity to jazz up your biscuits- even the canned ones!
