Need to find some places to eat in St Augustine Florida? Look no further! This post is packed full of my favorite restaurants to satisfy your breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert cravings!
While on our Vermont to Florida road trip, we stayed in St. Augustine for several days. And I literally ate my way through the city! So, today, I’m going to share some of my favorite places to eat in St Augustine Florida, along with the meals we had at each of them.
Let’s get started with breakfast…
Breakfast in St. Augustine
Cousteau’s Waffle & Milkshake Bar
15 Hypolita St, St Augustine, FL 32084
The Husband ordered the Jaguar Shark because he wasn’t feeling all that adventurous for breakfast and it was the only item on the menu that offered real maple syrup. 🙂
However, this decadent waffle was not only topped with real maple syrup, but covered with candied pecans, candied bacon and bourbon whipped cream, too.
In addition to his waffle, The Husband splurged and got a Banana Bread Milkshake, which just happened to be a special that day and is not on the regular menu.
He absolutely loved it!
I didn’t splurge on a milkshake, but instead ordered the Whirlybird.
A giant, hunk of waffle topped with hot cinnamon apples, paired with vanilla ice cream and bourbon whipped cream.
Oh my gosh, you guys…I wish I had access to that kinda breakfast all the time!
Lunch in St. Augustine
Gas Full Service Restaurant
9 Anastasia Blvd, Ste c, St Augustine, FL 32080
The Jalapeno Popper Burger…As Seen on the Food Network’s Guilty Pleasures!
Before going inside Gas Full Service Restaurant, we had no idea that they had a famous burger, but of course, after seeing it on the menu, we had to try it. And while it is truly a heart attack between two buns, it was likely the best burger I’ve ever had in my life!
The burger is stuffed with a creamy cheese and jalapeno mixture, grilled to medium and then breaded in panko crust and deep fried until golden brown.
It is amazing.
And yes, I will be trying to replicate it at home.
But, be sure that you are hungry when you get there because you get A LOT of food.
Funny side note: The Husband got the same meal, but he asked for bacon to be added and when the waitress/owner brought the plate out she said “the line cook said to tell you that he’s glad he doesn’t have to pay your medical bills”.
Thank you for the concern, my friend…but no worries, he doesn’t eat this way ALL the time. 🙂
Dinner in St. Augustine
Meehan’s Irish Pub & Seafood House
20 Avenida Menendez, St. Augustine, FL 32084
Oh Meehan’s…I wish I could come inside and stay forever…
Every single thing on the menu sounded delicious and we couldn’t stop ourselves from ordering several items…starting with these Reuben Rolls.
Oh yes, they shoved a Reuben sandwich right into an egg roll, served it up with some cheesy, thousand island dressing style dipping sauce and it is decadent.
The Husband ordered some Irish Clam Chowder, packed full of clams, potatoes, carrots and leeks in a creamy broth…some of his favorite things to eat.
And yes, he basically licked the bowl clean…
Instead of a soup course, I had the Mac & Cheese side dish. Oh yes, delicious little elbow noodles topped with a deliciously, creamy Kerrygold cheese sauce, crunchy breadcrumbs and bacon.
And I absolutely will be trying to make this one at home!
The Husband had Bangers and Mash for his main dish, one of his favorite Irish meals. The giant Irish sausages were covered in a caramelized, red onion gravy and sat aside a giant scoop of Colcannon and fresh green beans.
For me, I stuck with old faithful…Corned Beef and Cabbage.
But, let me tell you, there was nothing standard about the broth in this dish.
I could drink it straight from the bowl! I don’t know what they do differently than I do with this traditional boiled dinner, but oh man, that broth!
Dessert
Hyppo Gourmet Ice Pops
48 Charlotte St, St Augustine, FL 32084
A Chocolate Cheesecake ice pop!
The husband wasn’t interested in dessert the night I had this yummy chocolate cheesecake ice pop, but I’m glad I splurged because it was so good!
Not a fan of chocolate or cheesecake? No worries! The Hyppo offers over 30 flavors of ice pops, so everyone is sure to find a flavor they love.
Cone Heads Ice Cream
570 A1a Beach Blvd Saint Augustine Beach, FL 32080
If you know me at all, then you know that ice cream is my absolute favorite dessert on earth. Cheesecake is my second favorite dessert and blueberries top my fruit list. Combine them all together and you’ve literally made the best possible dessert for me. So, when I saw this Blueberry Cheesecake Ice Cream on the menu at Cone Heads, I knew I wouldn’t bother with any other flavor.
And I wouldn’t change my choice for anything! I got 2 giant scoops and it was so good that I’m seriously considering a move to St. Augustine just so I can eat it every day.
The husband was feeling a bit more adventurous and decided to mix a scoop of coffee and a scoop of triple peanut butter caramel. It must’ve been pretty good because he ate the entire thing and ice cream is not his favorite dessert.
All in all, we didn’t have a single bad meal while we were there. From breakfast to dessert (or both at the same time), each meal we had was spectacular in its own right.
I hope you’ve enjoyed taking this little tour of places to eat in St Augustine Florida. We had so much fun eating our way through the city!
