Homemade cleaning supplies not only work great, but, they smell good and they cost pennies to make, too. Plus, homemade cleaners use natural ingredients that are so much healthier to use around your children and your pets!

Recipes for Homemade Cleaning Supplies

All-Purpose Cleaner

1 cup white vinegar
2 cups water
10-20 drops orange essential oil
24 oz. spray bottle

Pour vinegar and water into a large spray bottle. Add essential oil and shake to combine. Use this mixture to clean your kitchen, bathroom and most other hard surfaces in your house.

Carpet Deodorizer

1 cup baking soda
10-15 drops essential oils

Combine baking soda and essential oils in a recycled mason jar.

Sprinkle all over your carpet. Allow the mixture to sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Vacuum as usual.

Dishwasher Detergent

1 cup each of borax, washing soda and white vinegar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract, optional

Laundry Soap

Fels-Naptha laundry soap bar
Borax – 65 oz box
Washing soda – 55 oz box
Small tub oxygen laundry booster
Scent booster crystals (optional)
1-3 gallon bucket/container or 3-1 gallon buckets/containers

Toilet Bowl Cleaner

1/2 cup baking soda
1 cup white vinegar
1 cup hot water

Sprinkle baking soda in the toilet and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes.

Combine vinegar and water in a small bowl. Pour into the toilet and let it sit for another 5 to 10 minutes.

Flush! Your toilet will be sparkling clean.
