Love Sloppy Joe’s, but hate the nasty chemicals and preservatives that come out of the can? Try this recipe – it’s the best Sloppy Joe’s you will ever eat and I promise, you’ll never go back to the canned version again!
As a kid, I loved when Sloppy Joe’s were on the dinner menu, but, I always picked them apart. I loved the flavor of the sauce, but I hated the onions and peppers that were in the canned junk my mother always served.
So, as an adult, I decided to figure out the perfect recipe for Sloppy Joe’s. I needed something that still offered the yummy flavor without the chunky onions and peppers.
When I realized that it only takes 2 ingredients to get that same exact flavor I was hooked and I’ve been making “The Best Sloppy Joe’s You’ll Ever Eat” ever since.
What are the 2 ingredients?
It’s so simple, it’s almost embarrassing…
Tomatoes and Barbecue sauce.
Who would of thought, right?
If you really want to, you can add the onions and peppers – just go ahead and saute them before you add the ground beef to the skillet.
It’s so good, your kids will ask for it every night. Seriously, my kids love this stuff and they get all excited every time I say it’s on the menu.
And with so few ingredients, you could almost call it a healthy dinner. We usually eat it with french fries or tater tots on the side.
But, you can also mix it up and use this same sauce to make my Sloppy Joe Goulash or Sloppy Joe Casserole.
Heck, you could even just dump it over spaghetti noodles if you like.
Or eat it with crackers.
Or pour it on rice.
The possibilities are endless!
So, what are you waiting for?
Go get a pound of ground beef out of the freezer and make this for dinner tonight! Your family will love it.
Here’s the recipe –
The Best Sloppy Joe's
